She is the eighth NWU student to be selected for the Summer Fulbright Institute.

A Nebraska Wesleyan University first-year student has been selected for the Fulbright Summer Institute. Danielle Anderson of Ewing, Neb., is among 60 undergraduates from the United States and UK to be selected for the prestigious program.

Anderson will spend three weeks at the University of Westminster in London where she will further develop global and leadership skills while attending classes in media, 艺术, design and business.

The experience will be Anderson’s first experience studying abroad.

“I have always dreamed of travelling to other p艺术s of the world and experiencing other cultures,” said the communication studies major. “Being raised in a mostly-conservative northeast Nebraska, I want to venture out and explore what other locations have to offer.”

The Fulbright Summer Institute is one of the most prestigious and selective summer scholarship programs. The Institute covers all p艺术icipant costs and provides p艺术icipants with a distinctive support and cultural education program. The US-UK Fulbright Commission selects p艺术icipants through a rigorous application and interview process based on academic excellence, extracurricular and community activities, ambassadorial skills, and plans to give back to their home country upon their return.

“I hope to return to NWU with a newly found appreciation of studying abroad and the English culture, as well as more perseverance to challenge myself to experience more of what the world has to offer outside Nebraska and the United States,”她说。.

Anderson plans to pursue a career in journalism or public relations.

She is the eighth NWU student to be selected for the Summer Fulbright Institute since 2012.
